• Game Review 05.08.2009

Was rummaging around looking for some cables when I came across my Final Fantasy X-2 game CDs.  Funny thing is, I don’t even have a Playstation 2 anymore so I’m not sure why I still have the CDs.  Maybe, down deep inside I just can’t get rid of Yuna and gang.

Another reason could be I’m saving the game to finish one day.  I can always get another PS2, but I can’t be guaranteed I’ll find the game again.

Since Final Fantasy 7,  I think the series has become the gold standard to which all other JRPGs are measured against.  The story lines have always been exceptional, and the programmers at Square seemed obsessed with pushing the platform hardware to the edge.  End result, amazing graphics and gameplay.

The graphics for Final Fantasy X-2 seem dated now, but when it was released it was top shelf stuff.

In any case, I’ll leave you with this great video compilation someone did to the song “1000 Words” which was adapted to english by Sweetbox.

Final Fantasy, you’ll always have a nostalgic spot in my gaming heart.
